Little Bug is smiling! we have yet to catch it on camera yet, but it just started a few weeks ago and we are loving it.
He is also rolling over and enjoys rice cereal occasionally. When Mama finds the time.
He has been having some tummy aches lately so we are trying his reflux medicine again.
I looked at a picture of him when he was two weeks old and even though his head is much larger now, his hair hasn't compensated, and he looks bald from a distance.
He still has to be swaddled for his baths, or he flails and cries :(
However, he does not need to be swaddled for bedtime/naptime. Weird, but I'm not complaining.
This boy likes to socialize! I thought for sure he would be overwhelmed at the baby blessing but he wasn't! he hardly napped, smiled at everyone, and when everyone left he threw a huge fit. This is a bit of a challenge for his home-body Mama... we may need to find a mothers group...
The Up-To-Three program came by this week (his NICU follow up program) and gave him very high marks! For those thoroughly interested (grandmas!) here are his scores:
gross motor skills: 2 months
fine motor skills: 2 months
cognition (huh?): 4 months
language skills: 3 months
self help (huh?): 2 months
social and emotional skills: 3 months
I'm not exactly sure what this means but his gestation is 2 months so he is either on mark or ahead. Bravo baby, bravo.
Oh, and if we have an uninteruppted evening, he will sleep for 6 hours before needing to be fed again. After the baby blessing dinner he slept for 8!
His last weigh in (October 10th) was 11 lbs 7 oz! Only a few pounds shy of normal birth babies!
